It's a Green, Green Christmas

I love giving gifts to friends and family during the holidays but usually stress about the prospect. Reason being? I want to give meaningful gifts that are personal, affordable and will be appreciated. Phew- So much pressure!

Luckily, this year I have my game plan and I'm going green! I've discovered these fabulous, reusable water bottles by Earthlust.

Made of food grade stainless steel, these custom designed bottles are chic to carry around and great for the environment.

I bought myself this gorgeous 13oz bottle with the tree design and I love it.

I will NEVER go back to wasteful plastic water bottles again!

I love this little one with the owl...

The bottles range between $16 and $21 dollars and make a fantastic stocking stuffer.

For my friends, I'm creating a little gift bag complete with Earthlust water bottles and Baggu reusable shopping bags. The perfect environmentally friendly gift...

Daily, lovely idea. The bottles look great. And I love reusable shopping bags.

In fact, I had been thinking of cribbing a page from my kid's art teacher. They used basic acrylics to paint on canvas totes--not difficult at all. Now I'm even more inspired to do the same...thanks for the extra nudge!

These bottles are fabulous and a great idea for the stockings. I will try and find something similar here - thank you for the idea, xv.

Hi Scentscelf- I love the idea of painting on canvas totes- and what a fabulous present that would make. Talk about custom!

Thanks Vicki- If you can't find these where you are, there are so many different brands out there- you should be able to find something...

Thanks for this fantastic idea - I still have my nephews (in their late teens, early twenties..)to buy for, and this is exactly the kind of useful, practical gift they'd make lots of use of..:)

The peackock feather one looks especially lovely. What a nice idea for a little gift!! I bet it's also the most useful guest gift too.

Hi Helg- Yes the peacock one is one of my favorites. I gave one to a friend last week (early Xmas present) and she loved it...

Snap!! I had exactly the same idea the other day and rushed out to buy a water bottle for my daughter from the Swiss company Sigg. I have vowed to stop using those terrible plastic water bottles this year. It makes me want to cry when i see all the water bottle waste thrown around the streets of Sydney.

Primrose- Sigg is another wonderful brand... they have great designs and get a lot of good press.

Yes, it makes me recoil in horror when I think about how many plastic water bottles I've used... oh well, I guess it's the change that matters now. I'm so glad that we are all on the same page!
