Meditations on a Full Moon

Raise your hand if you've had a crazy last few days. I know I have. And now I sit at my computer, feeling as though I am coming to the end of a chapter that could well be titled: "Meditations on a Full Moon or Madness and all of its Friends".

I have a wonderful life- and not without madness, mind you. But the madness that started Thursday evening and ended just a few hours ago was not of the garden variety. Yes, the last few days brought me a mysterious plumbing catastrophe in my home, crazy, feuding neighbors, an almost tribal night of dancing at a friend's going away party and today a children's birthday party that would make the Mad Hatter's tea gathering look tame.

And I had to wonder, did any of this have to do with Friday's incredible full moon?

When the madness began to happen Thursday evening, I started to resist it but I found it much easier to let go of the paddles and just enjoy the experience like a wild and colorful dream.

So to end it on a peaceful note, I am staying in tonight, cuddling up with a new book (that will remain nameless as I am going to review it shortly) and am just going to appreciate a quiet evening at home.

Did you survive the madness of the full moon?

It sounds like full moon madness was heaps of fun, except maybe the plumbing and the neighbours! Enjoy your book...nothing better, xv.

I LOVED the full moon. I always do. Somehow, I am able to remain more placid, even through the madness... :)

...though I should probably also give thanks that the moon cycle is just that--cyclical. :) :)

Oddly enough nothing really interesting happened with the full moon and usually at the library we get some very strange characters when there is a full moon.

Hi Vicki- That was what was so crazy about the last few days- it was catastrophe's and chaos mixed with really fun gatherings. I'm exhausted!

Scentscelf- I envy you. The next time there is a full moon I am not answering my door or phone and will aspire to remain placid :)

Jena- I'm glad you were able to escape the chaos. It's starting to sound like all the crazy people were only in Santa Monica :)

I used to work as a nurse and the police would often call in on shifts and both professions would comment on how much crazier things get at full moon. I do love full moon and will often dance underneath the full moon and meditate. My daughter loves the moon and will always call and talk to it. Actually, do you think of the moon as 'it' or masculine or feminine? I think of her as feminine mainly.

Hi Primrose- that's such a great question- I've never thought of the moon in terms of gender (like I do with mother earth, for example)- even though people say they can see a man in the moon, but I have always thought of it as a very powerful entity.

I loved dancing under the full moon last Friday- it was a memorable night...
