Beauty Updates

I hope you had a great weekend! This week's video discusses three different beauty topics that are on my mind:

Pür Minerals
Pür Minerals sent me their 4n1 Pressed Mineral Powder to review. It's great! It provides full coverage and is packaged in a pretty little compact made of recycled materials— perfect for when you are on the go.

Hair after baby
I've experienced hair loss after having both of my children. The fine baby hairs around the crown of my head are particularly hard to style. (*Update* Thanks to all of my YouTube viewers who have already provided helpful suggestions such as putting a small amount of hairspray on a boar bristle brush to smooth the flyaways and using clear mascara. I will try both techniques... thank you!)

Glowing Green Smoothie
For breakfast lately I've been drinking Kimberly Snyder's glowing green smoothie. Kimberly is the author of The Beauty Detox Solution and Beauty Detox Foods. Even though I am not a vegan I really enjoy her books because I appreciate her healthy recipes. And I tell you, this smoothie makes me feel fantastic throughout the day. I can't recommend it enough!

To hear more about these beauty topics, check out this week's video. If you are unable to see the video above, click here, look in the sidebar of this blog, or visit my channel: www.youtube.com/TheDailyConnoisseur

I use Pur Minerals in the color Medium Dark. I've been using them for about 3 or 4 years now. I like using a powder that can give me a range of coverage. There's a product called ORS Edge Control and it might work with your fly-aways.

Jenn ~ my hair fell out after my second baby was born around October right before I was going to be in a wedding. My pictures from that time are less than stellar. Ha! I lost it in the same places that you have and it's growing back now. It's about 3 inches long so it looks a little strange when I pull my hair back but nevertheless, I'm just thankful to see it again. :) I think yours will grow back too. :)

I had the same issue too after my babies. My hairdresser gave me a great trick that worked for me; She had me spray my HANDS with hairspray, and then quickly smooth those too short hairs down. Worked like a charm until they were long enough to lay flat :)

I too, LOVE the "Glowing Green Smoothie", and my husband and I drink it almost everyday. It's healthy and provides a lot of iron which I need. I googled the health benefits of celery, (it's in there too),and all the other raw ingredients, they are so good for us! You, as usual, are lovely and a delight!

I have the exact same hair situation and have had it after each of my three children. Haven't found any great solution other than smooth down with hair spray on my hands but this isn't 100% successful at all! Just have to wait for it to grow out. Nice to know others have this too though!!

A question - do you make mistakes with clothing purchases? I mean, do you ever buy something thinking it will fit perfectly or suit you really well and find it doesn't? This is something I struggle with. Always so annoying. I think I have about a 1 in 3 hit rate ie. for every 3 things I buy only 1 is a great piece for me. Sigh...

Hi everyone! So I tried using hairspray on an unused toothbrush and brushing down the flyaways and it worked for about 30 minutes... then throughout the day the flyaways slowly released themselves and my hair was a mess again! I will try the other suggestions soon. Thanks again for weighing in xo
