I think if they have been kept in the cold before you get them it's quite hopeless.

Your home look lovely by the way!Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08459305021803770946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7682312585713348709.post-52701690688246857662008-11-02T12:05:00.000-08:002008-11-02T12:05:00.000-08:00Jena- lol! Once you get the hang of it they are easy to keep and you just might surprise yourself! Hope you feel better...The Daily Connoisseurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13843902889491327636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7682312585713348709.post-26453884404849158532008-11-02T09:50:00.000-08:002008-11-02T09:50:00.000-08:00Oh man do I wish I could keep plants, but trust me...Oh man do I wish I could keep plants, but trust me on this, I have the black plague thumb of gardening. I killed rosemary in California! Also, I try to pick ones that have only half bloomed so I know the blooms will last longer...The Daily Connoisseurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13843902889491327636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7682312585713348709.post-65540165576147289282008-11-02T05:33:00.000-08:002008-11-02T05:33:00.000-08:00I love orchids, and I am NOT a fussy plant person....I love orchids, and I am NOT a fussy plant person.

Trader Joe's is the most common source for me, though there is a local grower who offers plants at farmer's markets, and they are a good, inexpensive source as well.

As for care, I also water once a week, a good soak and then a full drain. My blooms frequently last for months, and they really do prefer INDIRECT light--after all, they grow in the leaf canopy of the rainforest.

Best advice? Buy a healthy plant! :)ScentScelfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12264276265890227820noreply@blogger.com
