I live in Charlotte, and we have excellent food, shopping, and of course the NASCAR Hall of Fame, but I think the Biltmore Estate tops the must see in NC list!
Also, if you are a Jan Karon Mitford Series fan, you have to go to Blowing Rock which is where she lived when she wrote the Mitford series - the town was her inspiration for Mitford. I cleaned my bathroom with it but I'm sad to say that with a lot of elbow grease, my bathtub still had soap scum. I pulled out my Scrubbing Bubbles and it wiped away easily. I decided to try this even though I don't like the smell of vinegar - I have to say I love it!! The lavender really does cut the vinegar smell. You are comment of the week!

Amy, I don't blame you. I love lemon verbena! We have two lemon verbena plants in our garden. Best scent ever.

Amy, Happy baby village. In your opinion what are the best places in NC? My husband and I are thinking of visiting that state. He is kind of obsessed with it because it has such great golf. However, I've heard Dr. Bronners is also good. Did it take you long to get used to the smell, Jennifer? And to Amy above...I have a Mrs. Meyers scent too. When we move back to NC soon, our daughter has requested we use it again to remind her of when we lived there prior. Thanks, Jennifer, for a good reminder of how easy it is to clean naturally. I need to share my favorite homemade all-natural cleaner with you and your readers. Our kitchen appliances are stainless steel, and they end up covered with fingerprints and water drips. I have tried so many different commercial cleaning products, which are expensive and often smell strongly of chemicals.

I recently learned of an all-natural, inexpensive, and efficient way to clean stainless steel using vinegar and oil! The vinegar cleans, and the oil shines. Put a few drops of distilled vinegar onto a soft cloth, and clean the surface of the appliance in the direction of the grain. This will remove all the grime, but will leave it looking streaky. Put a little bit of oil onto the surface of a different clean cloth, and buff in the direction of the grain. I was completely amazed at how quickly the surface gleams and shines. I'm still amazed every time I clean the front of my dishwasher and refrigerator. It works so much better than the store-bought cleaners, and is nearly free. Please try this if you have stainless appliances. It does not leave the surface oily if you use the smallest amount of oil and buff it completely.

(I used canola oil, but you can probably use any kind of oil.)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02352912475320725552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7682312585713348709.post-229380118111641442017-02-27T20:02:09.563-08:002017-02-27T20:02:09.563-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.ghandihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02759249719854225311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7682312585713348709.post-50751791430645332912017-02-27T17:50:34.846-08:002017-02-27T17:50:34.846-08:00Hello, Jennifer. I've been using this cleaner ...Hello, Jennifer. I've been using this cleaner recipe now for several months. I recall reading about it in your book, and have seen similar recipes around the internet. I love it! I'm obsessed with lavender, so I use it in many ways around the home. Over the weekend, I made another batch of the multipurpose cleaner; this time, I used half lavender and half orange oil. Heavenly!Stephanie Claytonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13208066564509737843noreply@blogger.com
