Imperial Bedroom Face Palate by Fresh
Today on a routine trip to Sephora to pick up some much needed mascara, I decided to buy myself a little treat. It is a rare occasion when I do something like this. I tend to be rather practical (too practical sometimes) and usually spend my money on things that I "need".
I have been eyeing the Imperial Bedroom Face Palate by Fresh for some months now. And today, on a whim, I bought it for myself. It is an absolutely gorgeous compact that contains a collection of face lusters that are described (by Sephora) as being very aristocratic. Yes I already have a lot of eye shadows, blushes, and lip colors... I did not need this palate du tout, but something about it was begging me to buy it!
Let's start with the case. It is a gorgeous, deep red compact that has a touch of ornate, gold detail on the lid and a lavish-sized mirror inside. Inside, the compact contains five gorgeous confections: Black Chemise Satin Liner (an opalescent black eyeliner), Chantilly Lace Satin Luster (for highlighting cheekbones- or in my case, lack thereof), Gilded Satin Eye Luster, Pale Moonlight Eye Luster, and crown rubies lip shine.
The colors are rich and luminous- the sort that I would imagine one would want to wear on the Orient Express or perhaps when one is feeling particularly regal.
I would love to know what sort of lavish treats you have bought yourself recently...
The Imperial Bedroom Face Palate is $55 and can be purchased at: www.sephora.com

I love the idea of colours you would wear on the Orient Express! Lavish treats I have bought myself? Always books! I bought two lovely books last week. I might do a Blog about them soon so watch my space! xx
ReplyDeleteJosephine- Books can be wonderful lavish treats... I can never have or read too many. I think books, makeup and perfume are the most indulgent of treats because they are for you and you alone :) I can't wait to read your upcoming book reviews! xo
ReplyDeleteOooooooh I love this, and have to admit to being completely *IMPRACTICAL* myself when it comes to fripperies, shinies, lotions and potions. If it catches my beady eye, it's as well as mine. :P It's hard being so uncontrollable, means sometimes I spend lots of cash on lil things I dont really need and then don't have the cash for one item that would actually be worth it. But ooooh, the buzz of getting something little and cute and shiny, hehehehe. Ok so latest silly extravagance? Pair of sequined MC Hammer style pants I am starting to sincerely doubt I'll ever wear. Don't laugh. The worst part? Having already made this mistake, I almost bought a pair of sequined leggings this past weekend. I say almost, cause the extravagant price stopped me. But what the hell? I already knew the pants were a mistake, why was I making my way to the register with the leggings? Blame it on the shine factor...
ReplyDeleteDivina- lol! I can just picture the sequenced MC Hammer pants... I have been tempted by the whole harem pant trend too and am thinking of getting some. I have a suspicious feeling, however, that in five or ten years we will look back and say "what on earth was I thinking??"
ReplyDeleteIt felt good to buy this little treat for myself. I love love love it! xo
Oh I don't know, I have a couple of pairs of harem pants and I have really enjoyed wearing them over the last years with high heels. It gives a sort of effortless style, this combo. It is however the disco ball effect of the sequined ones that worries me!!! LOL (They are black with bright silver sequins - *faints*)
ReplyDeleteOh and what we'll definitely be wondering 'what the hell was I thinking' about in five or ten years will be the statement shoulder trend that's so in right now. But girl, I'm gonna rock it while it's here! *giggles*
ReplyDeleteDivina- I keep forgetting that the US is way behind Europe with fashion trends... harem pants just became the rage here but they have been hot there for a couple of years! I am too afraid to wear the shoulder statement pieces out there right now... I need to muster up some courage first :)
