End-of-Year Chat | Jennifer L. Scott

In today's end-of-year message, I share blog updates, ten-item wardrobe updates, announcements, book news and a very embarrassing story. How did our first semester of homeschooling go? Will I do a ten-item wardrobe video for winter? What's new for the Madame Chic books in Asia? All of these questions and more are answered in today's video.

Thank you to Lisa Donovan Lukas for her beautiful Nutcracker arrangements. I took my daughters to see The Nutcracker last weekend and had the pleasure of sitting in the first row. They were thrilled to see the dancers so up close and even get a peek of some of the back stage action. Lisa's beautiful arrangements bring one of my favorite ballets to my home piano. Thank you, Lisa!

Be sure to check out Melissa55's channel on December 22nd because I will be featured in her musical compilation video playing, O Little Town of Bethlehem, on the piano. Thank you, Melissa! *Updated* You can watch the video here.

Comment of the Week
Regarding Tuesday's Bloopers video, An Old Fashioned Country Life writes, "I love the deciphering look as you hear the background noise!!
"Do I need to tend to that? What level are we at?" look!!
God bless
Mrs.O"

Mrs. O, that was my exact thought process during that moment. Ha!

I will be going on my annual winter break from the blog and will see you in a few weeks. I am wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. I am excited to usher in 2018 and want to thank you for all of your support this year. You are a wonderful part of my life and I am grateful for you. See you in 2018!

  2. Oh, Jennifer! That's so funny!

We were on the receiving end of a similar mishap: A man confidently came into our house (front door was open and glass inner door was unlocked). He looked at us and said "Who are you?" We said, "Well we live here." He said, "No you don't." And hilarity ensues.

    Have a wonderful holiday!

    Best,

    Lucia

  6. Wonderful updates on your year and what's to come for 2018. That was a funny story and I'm glad it all turned out well, but I keep wondering why the young boy's family home had their front door unlocked. I'm one of those who locks all my doors and "checks them twice." Hope you found your friend's party. Happy New Year, Jennifer, and can't wait to see you in January.

  7. That is so funny! A number of years ago my husband was sitting in our burgundy Suburban in the Walmart parking lot. A woman opened the passenger door and started to get in. She saw my husband in the drivers seat and was understandably startled. Her burgundy Suburban was another couple of cars further down the aisle. Ha!

  8. Jennifer, my comment has nothing to do with this post. I just wanted to send a thank you to you. I will be checking out of a hotel today and during my entire stay I have remembered something you said in either a book or video about a woman who was so poised at the breakfast buffet and continued to eat tiny, lady like amounts of food even though she was clearly on vacation. I had never thought about it before reading that, but I definitely overeat on vacation because all the hotel food is delicious, abundant and free. but the last 3 days at the breakfast buffet, I chise to eat my usual fruit, protein and some nuts, just like I do at home. thank you for providing such great content and inspiration - it is so valuable to me!
