Welcome to my Spring ten-item capsule wardrobe for 2020.
In today's fashion show, I'm sharing my core items as well as some of my extras. I'll talk about each piece in the talk-through later in the week. For now, I hope you enjoy the show.
I have eleven core items this year... Please remember, it's not about the "ten". Ten is used as a guide post for forming the core of your capsule wardrobe. If you've been following me for several years you'll know that some seasons I have ten core items, other seasons I'll have 12 or 13 or even 9. It doesn't matter.
Let's have a look at each of the core items.
*SKYE Risette Dress code Jennifer20 for 20% off. SKYE is an elevated minimalist brand. I adore their simple, yet stylish clothing. They have excellent hem lengths and thoughtful designs.
This blue & white floral dress is from Universal Thread at Target, but it is sold out, so I am linking a similar find here from Lulu's.
White linen dress. This is sold out so I am listing two very similar options from Lulu's here and here. Here is a link to all midi dresses at Target.
Draper James Chambray shift dress
Mott & Bow dark denim jean JLS10 for 10% off and white blouse from Loft (sold out, so I am listing Loft's blouses here).
Mott & Bow white jean JLS10 for 10% off
Lulu's Black Floral Jumpsuit
Morning Lavender jumpsuit (sold out, so I am linking to Morning Lavender's jumpsuit selection here)
This pretty Loft blouse from last season is sold out, so I am listing Loft's current blouses here.
Let's have a look at some of the extras just from this year's wardrobe.
MerSea travel wrap in grey This is an elegant and beautiful wrap that comes in many different colors.
Gingham tee shirt is sold out, but I am listing a similar gingham blouse here. (Please note: this blouse I am linking is not a tee).
This casual red and white stripe tee is a fun take on the usual nautical strips I have this time of year.
The Très Chic sweatshirt is a fun, boatneck style vintage sweatshirt. It's a fun casual look.
Let's have a look at the new jewelry. These were sent to me by SKYE.
SKYE Léa 18K gold freshwater pearl earrings Jennifer20 for 20% off. These classic earrings with a twist feature hand-wrapped 18K gold threads and lustrous organic pearls for a delicate and timeless finish.
SKYE Opale 18K gold freshwater pearl earrings Jennifer20 for 20% off. These striking earrings bring an "off-kilter glamor" to everyday looks. They feature hand-wrapped 18K gold threads and lustrous organic pearls.
SKYE Azilis 18K gold freshwater pearl brooch Jennifer20 for 20% off. This unique and quirky brooch adds an artful flourish to your outfit. It has the same hand-wrapped 18K gold threads and beautiful organic pearls.
SKYE Issey necklace 18K gold freshwater pearl Jennifer20 for 20% off. This subtly beautiful pendant necklace has the same spun gold theme. The beautiful freshwater pearls accentuate the classic look.

My fiddle leaf fig is real, but here is a great faux option

Comment of the Week
Regarding my homemade yogurt video, This and That with Denise Jordan writes, "I thought it was too funny about you accidentally punching the second loaf of bread. I can just see you leaning out the window and your hand going into the loaf accidentally. I thought only I made those kind of mistakes. Thank you for sharing, it was nice."
Hi Denise, when I accidentally punched the rising bread loaf, I just couldn't believe it. Of all the things for me to lean on... it had to be that! Haha!
I hope you all enjoyed today's fashion show. Be sure to tune in to the talk-through later in the week. I look forward to hearing how your own ten-item wardrobes are coming along. Please let us know and your comment could be chosen as comment of the week on The Daily Connoisseur.

Hi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wardrobe! My favorite items are the white linen dress and the white blouse. The piano music with your piano pictured in the background was a nice touch, and the "tres chic" sweatshirt made me chuckle!

Thank goodness someone is still looking presentable! Almost everyone seems to be using the pandemic as an excuse to stop dressing, and in some cases, even stop showering! Of course we all need to give ourselves some grace during tough times, but unless we are actually unwell, getting dressed to face the day can only help. I think of the British government in WW2 encouraging women to keep looking presentable to keep up morale. Even the best-dressed man I know tells me he is not getting out of his bath robe until 9.30!
ReplyDeleteI imagine you heard the Queen's address to the nation. I felt very moved and inspired, what a strong and brave woman. It is amazing to think of all that she has been through in over nine decades of life. This makes me take comfort in her wisdom and feel determined to be my best self. We are only a few months out of severe bush fires and drought and I was feeling like I just had no resilience left. Yet we have to find it within ourselves and carry on.
Finally, what beautiful choices you have made for this Spring. The colour palette is so fresh and uplifting.
Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the capsule wardrobe. Only one piece really surprised me, an all white dress.
It just seems so highly impractical for a busy mom and homemaker. Perhaps this is for date night?
Kathy
I love, love, love this wardrobe. It's Chic, light and airy for spring and so inspiring. What a treat to look at so many lovely things! I wonder if you might tell us the name of the lovely song that was playing as you modeled your wardrobe? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYour capsule wardrobe is beautiful. I really enjoyed this Spring’s reveal.
ReplyDeleteLadies, thank you so much for your kind comments. I really enjoyed putting this wardrobe together, particularly as I am moving out of the nursing/ maternity phase. I am grateful for your presence here and hope you will join us for the talk-through tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteWith love,
Jennifer
