Jennifer, I am about to start reading 'In Triumph's Wake', a biography of three royal mothers and their daughters: Isabella of Castille and Catherine of Aragon, Maria Teresa and Marie Antoinette, and Victoria and her eldest daughter Vicky. I always love a good book recommendation! Queen's Gambit sounds very interesting. I love historical fiction. And since I just checked Mr. Selfridge out from the library, maybe I should check out The Victorian Home as well!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of my summer was definitely my wedding and honeymoon! My husband and I traveled to San Francisco from Kansas City to get married. After the wedding we spent a few days driving around wine country. It was absolutely beautiful, and I can't wait until we get to go back.
The Queen's Gambit sounds fabulous! Definitely want to read that one. I love historical fiction but lately I've been on a non-fiction bout. I love reading about green living and interior design.

ReplyDeleteMy summer has been wonderful. I found your site around June 15 and then bought your book and I have slowly been implementing lifestyle changes. I have yet to get to a 10 item wardrobe- but I did a very large closet cleanout. I also use our nice dishes everyday- and I have to say, it is really wonderful how these little changes truly make for beautiful living.

I read "Inside the Victorian Home" by Judith Flanders earlier this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have added your other recommendations to my reading list. The best part of my summer was the arrival of my new baby boy!
ReplyDeleteTry two on the comments (I think the first one was eaten away). The best part of my summer was spending time with family. It's clichéd, but my kids are growing and it was fun to spend time just "together" with family. We survived a 40 hr roadtip to Disneyland and back, visiting family and friends along the way. My parents visited from India and stayed a month (loved it!) and we were able to be a part of a reunion for family I haven't seen in 25 years.
