Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful summer. I am officially back to the blog on Monday with a post and video on great books I read this summer (along with a giveaway for the exciting new book, Queen's Gambit!) but before jumping back in, I wanted to show you my summer in pictures.
It's been an interesting summer...
I turned another year older...
I got to meet principal ballerina Allyssa Bross of the Los Angeles Ballet* ...
I baked a blueberry cake**
I broke my toe***
I attended the theatre on crutches. (Nothing could keep me from the arts!)****
I did my very first book signing at Anthropologie in Rancho Cucamonga and got to meet so many lovely readers (some who drove all the way from Barstow and San Diego!)*****
Here I am with the amazing and welcoming staff at Anthropologie Victoria Gardens, who hosted a first-class book signing from start to finish.
So, all in all, the summer has been fabulous. Broken toe and all :)
I'm looking forward to seeing you on Monday as I share my favorite books of the summer with you.
See you then! x
*Allyssa and I are at London Sole for Art Walk.
**Yes, I will share the recipe with you soon.
***Boo!
****A very worthy cause, Dizzy Feet Foundation's celebration of dance provides dance education to underprivileged youths.
*****The next book signing is August 29th at Anthropologie Santa Monica from 1pm - 3pm, RSVP HERE! And in this picture I am wearing Anthropologie. A lovely wine lace dress to add to my cocktail dress 'extras'.

Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing even with a broken toe and crutches!
I need to follow your book advice on wardrobing now more than ever as I have lost 20 pounds and hardly anything fits me. I am newly retired and I would LOVE some advice if you get the time or inclination to write on this subject.
Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the pics that you posted, you look lovely! I hope you had a great summer despite the broken toe. I have truly missed The Daily Connoisseur and I am so glad you are back!

Welcome back!! You and your insights were missed. It was nice to follow along on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad a broken toe didn't stop you from enjoying your Summer! Congratulations on your first book signing, how exciting for you! Now, if only you could come and sign some in New Zealand... :)I look forward to your post summer holiday posts (especially that blueberry cake recipe!)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Clare
It's nice to see you back Jennifer, if in preview! I've had a lovely winter (yes winter) putting some Mme Chic lessons in place.
ReplyDelete...and when you visit New Zealand, make sure you fly 4 hours west to Melbourne to do a signing here too.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your return.
How nice to see you back! It seems you're having an eventful summer! Looking forward for your new posts :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing all of your lovely photos. You even manage to look elegant for a trip to the hospital - I guess this is an example of 'look presentable always' in action!
My 13 year old daughter often sidles up behind me when I'm watching your videos and I'm glad because as I'm always telling her, everything you wear is sending out a message to the world - let's make sure it's the right message! (When your girls are older you will discover the huge amount of negative imaging for girls, and the marketing of inappropriate clothing etc..) It's quite a challenge to teach our daughters well in this awful environment.
Have a beautiful day, Madeleine.X
Hello Jennifer
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see your summer fun and sorry for your broken toe, which must be painful. Congratulations on your book signing and your dress is just beautiful
Helen xx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI was at the signing at the RC store. I'm glad I found your blog and look forward to your tips on here. I ended up purchasing a top from that store that day after you signed my book copy, and will get it tailored to a more flattering length. I'm also working on reducing my wardrobe pieces to what I wear and what looks good. I'm the one who mentioned that my mother taught me not to hoard, but in the past couple years I've let my closet go and your book helped me refocus on that, as well as reminded me of other good lifestyle choices, such as food, art, music. Best wishes, Ruth
