Christmas Chat 2016
Christmas is two days away, and in today’s chatty video, I wrap up many of the loose ends from past videos, and let you know what I’ve been up to during the month of December.
In the video I share with you:
How my Christmas planning went (and what we didn't end up doing!)
Seek out the arts inspiration including my review of the new Amelie musical, what it was like to take my daughters to the Nutcracker ballet for the first time, and Diavolo dance company’s suspenseful modern dance masterpiece, Trajectoire.
A nice gift idea for men (or anyone, for that matter!) My father loved the Nixplay digital photo frame I gave him for his 70th birthday. I’m sorry I didn’t mention this sooner. But it’s worth mentioning now so you can put it on gift lists for the future.
My postnatal hair loss. I've been wanting to do an update on this for a while!
What I'm wearing on Christmas eve
I hope you enjoy this final video of 2016.

Thank you for the recipe! I wanted to make a breakfast casserole for my family for Christmas morning and this is just right. :D
I personally (just myself) haven't made anything specific for my family on Christmas morning, but one time a few years ago my grandma did fried ham slices and homemade cinnamon rolls. They were just right and everyone enjoyed them thoroughly! Yum!
Have a very joyful Christmas!!!
Hi Miss L., my grandmother used to make fried ham and cinnamon rolls for Christmas too. What great memories!
Merry Christmas to all and a very happy new year!
I will be taking my annual break from the blog, but I really look forward to seeing you in 2017, and sharing another year of The Daily Connoisseur with you!

Hi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI loved your way of planning for Christmas, I think I'm going to use that for each month from now on. I'm looking forward to seeing all your new ideas for the coming year. Merry Cristmas and happy new year.

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for everything you share with us. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year. Enjoy your break.
ReplyDeleteOn a fashion note, a dress worn by Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, led me to explore the fashions of French designer Vanessa Seward. So elegant and pretty. I watched her fashion shows on youtube. Thought you might appreciate her style.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely Holiday

Hi Jennifer, I too am going through postpartum hair loss. I had a baby girl on July 22nd. She is my third child. I had my first two daughters in my late twenties and early thirties. I am now 42, so this baby was a huge surprise. I suffered hair loss after my first two pregnancies as well, however, it wasn't as bad as this one.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I'm being very careful with how often I wash and style my hair. I'm also still taking prenatal vitamins. I have no magic solution or suggestions, only to say, I understand what you are going through.
I'm trying to remain positive and not focus so much on it even though some days I look in the mirror and want to cry. I've purchased some cute hats to wear on the really, really bad hair days although, at this point there is no such thing as a good hair day.
Our little surprise has brought so much joy and laughter to our home and we are immensely thankful to God for her. Her sweet face makes the hair loss a little easier to bear.
Here is hoping to a full hair recovery for both of us in 2017!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you so much for your blog and videos, I looking forward to them each week! Have a fabulous Christmas and New Year!

ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteA huge thank you for recommending Chatbooks. I was not able to afford a professional photographer for my small June wedding. The beautiful candid photos that my friends and family took were not compatible with most online album making sites until...Chatbooks. I just received the most lovely album a s already sent a thank you email to the owners of the site. A thank you is due to you as well.
Also, I've been taking Nutrafol Women's hair vitamins and have seen a difference in my thyroid related hair loss. They are available online.
Best wishes for a Blessed Christmas and Joyful New Year!
Jovan
Feel better soon - the rotten cold is doing the rounds here in Ireland as well - I know how you're feeling!!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I loved your 2016 Christmas chat. I realize I'm constantly repeating myself in the few comments I post to you, yet I find myself smiling so much during and after each and every one of your videos that I just cannot keep myself from sharing how much joy your blog brings to my Mondays(and the sometimes extra days when you blog).

Hi Jennifer! Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI had 5 sons in my 30's and 40's and had significant postnatal hair loss. It all recovered eventually, but took about a year after each baby. Take care- I enjoy your blog so much and wish you much family joy. Wendy from White Rock BC
Jennifer, I started losing my hair about a year ago. I went to the doctor and he discovered my throid was low. I take a very low does of thyroid now and it has all grown back. Perhaps you and your doctor have checked yours, but If not, maybe this is the reason.
ReplyDeleteHappy New year1
