The Clueless Gardeners Plant a Lemon Tree

The Clueless Gardeners plant a lemon tree (or do they?) in today's bonus video.

Also, what does Ben typically wear while gardening?

What is coming up on The Clueless Gardeners?

All of these burning questions arise in today's fun clip.

I hope you enjoy our video.

Mentioned in the video: these are our patio lights . I gave them to Ben as a Christmas present last year and we really love the nice ambiance they provide in the evening.

If you follow me on Instagram, you recently saw our Clueless Gardener conundrum: our watermelon vine growing up the arch trellis...

I received a lot of fabulous advice about making a sling for the watermelon. Some even mentioned that pantyhose would work well. I was all set to create my watermelon sling (and document it for The Clueless Gardeners, of course) but I wasn't fast enough!

The other morning I walked outside and my beloved watermelon baby had fallen off the arch trellis onto the floor. Thank you for your advice. I will know better for next time...

Have a wonderful week and I'll see you on Thursday.

With love,

Jennifer (A Clueless Gardener)

  1. Always love these gardening videos and the opportunity to observe Ben’s creative genius, and in white pants yet, along with his humor.

  2. I do adore your garden videos! We're supposed to get snow by weeks end so I need to get my garlic in this weekend! Amazing to see planting a lemon tree towards the end of October! Not to mention the white linen trousers and sandals! I wonder who washes and presses those for Mr. C. ? ;) Someone probably still (you know) after only having a baby two weeks ago? You are truly amazing! I do hope you take some time to care for your (private) self during this time. stitches? sitz baths? pain? sore (nipples)? Still working ... ??? I stand in awe and bow down to the goddess of motherhood. I'd want to be pampered at least until the bleeding (hemorrhage) stopped. We're all different and I am suddenly feeling like a wimp. Tell Mr. C. you ARE WONDER WOMAN!

  3. It's so fun to watch The Clueless Gardeners series and do keep them coming, please. I can see why Mr. C, who is as stylish as ever digging in the dirt, would want to relocate the tree to a patio plant for the time being and the peppers, as well, so the evening visitors don't nibble away. We learn by doing and your videos helps us all. You may begin to be less clueless, but do stay curious, please. I love your active home lifestyle.

  6. I love it! This is gardening! If you’re planting new stuff, there always seems to be a period of experimentation before you’re totally happy with it. May this latest foray into your botanical dream landscape give you many lemons!
