# Lessons from Madame Chic # Reader Questions Answered

Reader Questions Answered

I've received so many emails from readers... too many to individually respond to! (I am aware this is a high quality problem.) But I do want you to know that I appreciate each and every one.

Because many of you have similar questions, I've decided to start a new series on the YouTube channel called Reader Questions Answered.

This week's video discusses aprons, dog hair (or should that be fur?), air of mystery and assertiveness. If you are unable to see the video above, click here, look in the sidebar of this blog, or visit www.youtube.com/TheDailyConnoisseur

Letters from Readers

Every now and then I receive a wonderful testimonial for Lessons from Madame Chic like this one from Kristin P. in Anoka, MN.

This letter makes me so happy. Thank you Kristin!

Dear Jennifer,

I read your book in 2 days! I loved it!
Your lessons have taught me how to make my dream of a simple, uncluttered, and very enjoyable life a reality.
The first thing I did was minimize my daily makeup routine. No more need to buy the next eyeshadow palette. Now I use my prettiest eyeliners and embrace my lipstick collection everyday.
Next I separated my wardrobe into seasons. Then I took a look at my current life and weeded through. I am left with 18 pieces that are my favorite and the most chic.
There are so many other changes I have made. From the way I prepare and eat my meals to how I communicate and entertain. I feel as if I have created a few more hours in a day! I can enjoy music, art, the world around me!
The best part is...my husband has noticed, and he LOVES it! He is always commenting on how nice I look. We are enjoying the finer moments in life together much more than before. We aren't feeling consumed with consuming.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for writing this wonderful book!

Best,
Kristin P

Great video! May I ask where your apron is from? I am just loving your blog btw!

I use aprons a lot also. Even when washing my face or putting on makeup. Your honestly is refreshing.

What a very nice post - thank you for being so thoughtful in trying to answer reader's questions. You're very supportive and gentle in your approach to dispensing advice and tips! That's why I keep coming back :) I also need to replace my apron with something prettier. I see that Anthropologie has some nice ones...

I loved this video. Would you want to answer a question about cultivating authentic friendships with other women?

I am in a season now where all my children are in college and I find that my girlfriend list has shrunk because it was activity based.

I have a French Canadian father and he always said it's best to have two or three really good and true friends.

What are your thoughts on friendships?

I loved the video and the testimonial as well. I wish there was like a reader forum where people could share their stories and talk about living the lessons from Madame Chic! Does anyone know of something like this?

This is a nice development on The Daily Connoisseur - readers questions. I like stream of consious speakers because I am not one, and I often think my natural tendency towards silence makes people uncomfortable. One of my sons is a stream on conscious speaker, and he went off on me when he was about 3 years old. My offense? I was wearing an apron at the dinner table, yet I was not cooking, and this troubled him:) Being comfortable in your own skin is important too, and people who talk "too much" maybe are being too hard on themselves. Also, I am intrigued by Valerie's question - cultivating adult friendships that are not child-centric. I think that may be a more common issue than we realize. I like your videos beacause they remind me of conversations I used to have with friends when I had fewer responsibilities.

in regards to the reader's question about talking too much...Abraham Lincoln said : Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
