You all know how much I love my Clarisonic Mia. I've been using it for years and it's one of those tools that I think is really invaluable for preserving beautiful skin. Many of you have written to me saying you'd love to own a Clarisonic, but it's not in your price range.
I contacted the people from Spa Sonic and they gladly sent a kit to review and kindly offered to give one away to a reader of the Daily Connoisseur! (More on that later.)
But first, what everyone wants to know: how does the Spa Sonic hold up to the Clarisonic?
This week's video gives you my in depth review and allows you to see both skincare brushes up close.
A few notable differences:
✦ The Spa Sonic is battery operated, whereas the Clarisonic requires a charger.
✦ The Spa Sonic brush head physically rotates in a circle, whereas the Clarisonic brush head vibrates.
✦ The Clarisonic is programmed to run for one minute. There is no timer on the Spa Sonic.
✦ The Spa Sonic includes four different attachments including: face brush, body brush, pumice stone and facial sponge. The Clarisonic Mia is only a facial brush.
There are pros and cons to each brush and my bottom line is this:
The Clarisonic is still the Rolls Royce of skincare brushes because of all of the technology behind it, but the Spa Sonic is an excellent runner up and is a great choice for people who cannot afford the Clarisonic. The Spa Sonic normally retails at around $60 (It's often on sale. As I write this it's available for $32 at Target, etc.).
The Spa Sonic is available at Costco, Target, Walmart, CVS and Walgreens. For more information visit www.myspasonic.com

I like my freckles.
I have heard amazing things about this!
What I love most about my skin is how it protects me. After dealing with 2nd and 3rd degree burns and a skin graft I learned that life without skin is extremely painful. While I wish I didn't struggle with sores and breakouts, I've learned to really appreciate the joy and comfort of having skin!
I enjoyed your detailed review a lot. Thank you!
I like the way my skin crinkles around my eyes when I smile. It lets people know that they make me happy.
My skin rarely gives me any acne problems,, bless it's heart.
I am fortunate enough to have very few wrinkles for my age!
I am fortunate to have very nice, clear skin, thank you Mom.
Sam
Has anyone tried the Sirius Sonic? It has the vibrating head rather than the spinning one. It has good Amazon reviews. I will one day have a Clarasonic - but until then....I am looking for something comparable. I have the Olay brush, and it doesn't feel much different - in My opinion - than using a good washcloth.
My skin is very dry & flaky and I'm always on the look out for good facial products. Would love to win this one!
I love that my skin is finally settling down after years of issues. Yay for being 35!
I like how clear it is after years of acne.
i have come to appreciate my very pale skin with its few freckles and wrinkles sprinkled in. and i love trying new products on it :)
I would love to win this. It would help with my "mature" dry skin. I used to love my skin (in my 20's and 30's) because it didn't give me any trouble if I kept it moisturized. No lines or wrinkles of any kind. I can't say that now!
I would love to win this. I think it would help my dry "mature" skin. Although I can't say that I don't have any wrinkles, I can say that I don't have many.
I would love to win this. The thing I like best about my skin is that it doesn't have too many wrinkles.
I would love to win this. I like that my skin doesn't have too many wrinkles.
Despite a few stress or hormonal related flare ups from time to time, my skin remains remarkably soft even at 60+ years. Thanks for the good genes and good skin care advice, Mom!
My skin finally cleared up after refraining from eating dairy. I'd love to see how much smoother it might be with the Spa Sonic! Thanks for the giveaway!
I don't use any type of electronic facial brush, so this would be interesting to use.
I've never thought of trying one of these brushes. I use exfoliating beads from Peter Thomas Roth skincare range. It has glycolic acid and salicylic acid as part of its ingredients. Keeps my skin clear, glowing and clarified. Would love to try the Spa Sonic especially for my rough, dry heels.

I have very fair skin, and I rarely get blemishes =D

I like my freckles. :)
What I love most about my skin is the way it responds when I take the time to learn (and then do) what is best for it. There is nothing like the glow of healthy, cared-for skin. No make-up on the market can replace good skincare.
I like that my skin is not so oily anymore! I want to win!! :)
I used to have the clarisonic brush but was not too impressed with it. I did not like that it only "vibrated" and not rotate.
Very cool that Spa Sonic has a body brush... I've been wishing Clarisonic would come out with a body brush! Thanks for the informative review, Jennifer!
Thank you for reviewing this product. I do not have either of these brushes but would like to try one.
I love that the better I treat my skin, the better it looks.
Great video!! You cracked me up with your "let's try this again" and "for people with no budgets."
I like how naturally pale I am.
Love my naturally tan color!
I love how fair my skin is (the "fairest" in the land!)
I love that my skin doesn't show its real age.
I love how well my skin heals itself, with care. And, that said, I love my scars.
I love how my skin feels after a facial, and in reckon it will feel the same way after using this product!
I am thinking about trying a skin brush system, but I am wondering how either of these would be with sensitive skin? That said, I think I need better exfoliation than I now have.
Thanks Jennifer!
Lisa
I love how my skin is the best indicator of how well I'm taking care of myself. Anytime I'm overloaded, not eating enough of the right foods, or not taking enough time for myself, the first place I can physically see this is in my skin.
I don't have many wrinkles (yet).
Right now I don't like anything about my skin, ever since I got pregnant I have has a lot of acne and it's super dry so exfoliating is a just because it's constantly peeling so I would love this! I would get a lot of good use from this!
I like my skin-tone.
I love that my skin is soft
I love that my skin is generally clear!
I love that I don't tan, because in spite of being teased for being "pale", I've avoided sun damage my whole life and will (hopefully!) fend off wrinkles for a long time.
I love my skin tone.
i dont get many zits

i love my cheekbones and eyebrows! not really skin, but face none the less!
I love how my skin feels because I moisturize all the time. I fly a lot for work and I always moisturize on the plane. People might think it's weird, but I have my Evian spray and my Kiehl's and my face loves me for it. :)
I like that I have religiously shielded it from the sun since I was in my early twenties.
What I love about my skin is that at almost 50, I have no wrinkles or lines.
I like that I don't have acne problems
I like that I don't have major breakouts! (Knock on wood!)
