Lupicia Fresh Tea- Jardin Sauvage

Not being able to drink my favorite teas and coffees while pregnant has proven quite challenging. I normally am a green tea fiend- a connoisseur, if you will, that usually enjoys at least two cups a day. I also love an afternoon coffee (cream, no sugar) **sigh**... Anyway, don’t feel too sorry for me- the day will come when I can enjoy my favorite beverages again. But in the meantime...

I wandered into my favorite tea shop in Los Angeles, Lupicia Fresh Tea, and explained to them my woe in not being able to drink the tea I love (I usually get their Momo Oolong Supergrade or classic Sencha Green Tea) . They explained to me that rooibos tea, or African red bush tea, is actually quite good for pregnant and nursing women and is recommended as being safe to drink. I did my research- and they were correct! So I journeyed back and purchased Jardin Sauvage- a green rooibos tea flavored with mango and citrus- and have been delighting in it ever since. I love rooibos tea anyway (after all, it is Mma Ramotswe’s drink of choice) but this green rooibos has such a smooth, lovely flavor, I'm happy to add this to my repertoire of favorite drinks.

As I write this, I am enjoying a cup- along with a perfectly chilled sliced white peach... a delightful afternoon treat.

My beloved Royal Albert bone china tea set (a present from my mother in law) is pictured above. This antique set makes the ritual of drinking afternoon tea even more special...

I would love to know… what is your favorite tea?

Your china tea set is beautiful!
I love the green...and florals.

I adore a BC tea blend from the Silk Road Tea Company called Abkhazi Garden Blend.....it sustains and restores me and always is best brewed and served in bone china! It's a bit pricey...but worth it.

That tea set is so gorge!

My favorite black tea, which I haven't had in many years, is Mariage Freres The de Paques -- a black tea blend with citrus and vanilla notes for Easter.

My favorite green tea is Les Palais des Thes The du Hammam, a green tea with rose, orange blossom, and dried plum, I think.

Have you been to Les Palais desk Thes in Beverly Hills?

Lovely tea set. :)

I'm very fond of tea. Some favorites are black dragon pearls from adagio (very smooth black tea - no milk or sugar necessary), Chocolate Rose tea from Mariebelle NY (which also has very nice chocolates), Harney & Sons Paris tea and Jasmine Puer from Tao of Tea in Portland, OR.
But any good earl gray or chai with milk & honey makes me happy, too.

I am very boring with tea. I love English Breakfast the best. But I do love it the most from floral bone china. xx

That is a lovely tea set. I drink more tea in the winter time. I took a yoga class a couple of year ago and at the end of the class the instructor always had a different kink of tea to sample. She also had sticks of honey. I tried so many different kinds of tea. It was really a highlight of taking the class for me. And I was surprised how much I liked adding the honey to my tea.

Good morning everyone- thank you for sharing your favorite teas and coffees- I have a fascination with knowing what personal preferences people have when it comes to tea. I find that most people are particular about what they drink and inadvertently become connoisseurs of their favorite blends... and I think we all agree that drinking tea from bone china is the best possible experience :)

Marsi- I have not been to Les Palais des Thes in Bev Hills- I've heard of it and am longing to go! Lupicia Fresh Tea is in the Century City outdoor plaza- I love it.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! xx

My current favorite is lemon verbena. In the evening after dinner I pull a few leaves from my plant and enjoy the citrus flavor. I also tried a few leaves of lemon basil with it and it was sooooo good. I think I will have some today.
