Comment of the Week

Anita writes, "I just love the word ‘retired’ as opposed to ‘getting rid of’, or even decluttering. It carries the feeling of something well loved and used, but its job is done. I love these videos, Jennifer. Thank you."

Thank you, Anita! I love that word too. It has dignity behind it. Thank you for watching.

Summer dresses often benefit from a slip. Any favorites?

I am rereading Polish Your Poise With Madam Chic after a few years
and am loving it again!
I like to incorporate nautical elements in my spring and summer wardrobe, like red, white, navy blue, and gold accents.

Thank you for the request on slips, Unknown... I have previously picked up slips from Nordstrom and BCBG but I can research the best places to get them now.

Erica, thank you! I'm so glad you are loving Polish Your Poise with Madame Chic.

Hi Jennifer,
I have always wondered why you fold up all your out-of-season clothing and store it for months in tubs and then, when you take it out to use, the pieces are always terribly crushed and wrinkled and have to be pressed or washed and ironed again - creating a lot more work for you.

So, I have decided to put forth my 2 cents worth and tell you what I do that makes everything ready to go at a moment's notice and saves time and extra work. Since you have a small wardrobe and a large closet, you could just leave all your clothes hanging in the closet (spring/summer together, fall/winter together. Wash, iron or dry-clean and leave hanging as is. You could put your out-of-season clothing in garment bags or shoulder covers if you want. This method saves a lot of time and effort. (One caveat: you will need another set of hangers, but well worth the expense.) I do this (also with my shoes, handbags, scarves, jewelry. Everything is organized and in one place. I love it! Getting dressed is not a chore. P.S. I do not have a 'monster-sized' closet and I share it with hubby! Cindy

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for all of your blog posts and Youtube videos. They are truly inspiring!
I have a question about jewelry organization and am hoping you can share some tips/tricks.
Do you store all of your jewelry in one place? Or do you stage the jewelry you are wearing with your current season's 10 item wardrobe and store the rest? Also are there any organizational methods you might recommend so that jewelry doesn't get lost or forgotten?

Thanks a million!
Amanda
