*NEW* Intermittent Fasting What I Eat in a Day 16:8 Method

6:08 AM 2 Comments

I'm sharing an all new Intermittent Fasting What I Eat in a Day following the 16:8 method in today's video.

I have been doing the 16:8 method of intermittent fasting for over two years. I enjoy the structure and discipline behind eating this way and feel free from the shackles of snacking! For as we know, Mindless Snacking is So Not Chic.

I am not a nutritionist so I am not sharing the food I eat to advocate that you eat this way too. I like to share what I eat in a day because I find these documentations interesting. And I always get ideas from meals other people enjoy. I aim to eat a balanced diet with lots of fruit, vegetables, and protein. As you will see, I also enjoy a daily teatime with a dessert as I subscribe to the motto as presented in Lessons from Madame Chic to "deprive yourself not".

Day 1

Breakfast 9:00 a.m. Avocado toast with everything but the bagel seasoning, hard boiled egg with salt and pepper, fresh fruit with cottage cheese

Lunch 12 noon Fish and chips with broccoli cheese croquettes and steamed peas

Teatime 2:00 p.m. Pique Earl Grey tea with two squares of dark chocolate

Dinner 5:00 p.m. Beef with steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and artichoke

Day 2

Breakfast 9:00 a.m. Avocado toast with grape tomatoes and kalamata olives and a hard boiled egg with salt and pepper

Lunch 12 noon baked lasagne with garden salad and my favorite ranch dressing

Teatime 2:00 p.m. Blueberry cake with cream and blueberries, PG Tips tea with milk and one sugar

Dinner 5:00 p.m. Apricot Glazed Salmon with steamed Asparagus and mayonnaise

Intermittent Fasting What I Eat in a Day | 16:8 Method

6:33 AM 4 Comments

I'm sharing another Intermittent Fasting What I Eat in a Day with you today. This video explores two unconventional days: a typical Sunday, which sees us enjoying a Sunday roast, and a day when we get takeout. What type of takeout foods do I choose on the Intermittent Fasting method?

Disclaimer: Please consult your doctor before trying Intermittent Fasting. This blog post is intended for entertainment purposes only. I am not a nutritionist so this blog post and video is not intended to give out nutritional advice. I aim to eat a well-balanced diet that is sustainable in the long term and this is what I hope to reflect in my videos.

Please note that for each day shown, I began with coffee at 7:00 am (I didn't film that part). I put heavy cream in my coffee... anywhere between 1 to 2 tsp in the morning. When I wanted to lose weight, I would not put cream in my coffee. Now that I am in maintenance mode and am happy with my weight, I have re-introduced cream back into my morning coffee. For each meal, water is to drink, unless otherwise indicated.

Day 1

Breakfast 9:15 a.m. - Strawberry Banana Smoothie with flax seed and whole Greek yogurt

Luncheon and dessert 12:45 p.m. - Pot roast with root vegetables Plates are Spode Woodland

Pumpkin custard. Crystal dessert cups (similar) and Spode Woodland teacups

Dinner 5:00 p.m. Shrimp wonton udon noodles with bok choy and sliced plum

Day 2

Breakfast: Pumpkin pie Smoothie 9:15 a.m. Here is the smoothie recipe:

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
1 banana
1/2 cup whole fat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 Tbs ground flax seed
1 Tbs almond butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Blend all ingredients in a blender until incorporated.

Luncheon 12:15 p.m. We had take out today from WABA Grill... I chose the Waba Salmon with brown rice and mixed vegetables. Plate by Spode Woodland

Directly after lunch I had a chocolate truffle from See's Candies... yum!

Intermittent Fasting What I Eat in a Day | 2 Days 16:8 Method (No Diet)

5:57 AM 3 Comments

I'm back with another intermittent fasting what I eat in a day video. I'm sharing two frenzied days in today's video. I need you to know that I don't curate these (clearly) and want to show you what it's like sometimes for a busy mom.

This is a "relaxed summer edition" as I tend to go light on the cooking in the summer months. This always refreshes me for fall, when I prepare to make hearty meals again. I hope you enjoy today's video.

*Disclaimer: this video and blogpost are for entertainment purposes only. Please consult your doctor before trying intermittent fasting. This is not intended to be nutritional or medical advice.

I've been enjoying whole fat Greek yogurt mixed with flax seeds, and topped with pecans, and seasonal fruit. I'm drinking coffee in my Keep Calm and Remain Classy Mug.  Dishes are by Portmeirion. Rattan placemats and table linens on Amazon.

I assembled these quick turkey and spinach wraps for lunch today. I like to use interesting spreads when I do these and this time I used a sour cream spinach dip along with Havarti cheese. This was delicious!

The main thing to remember with intermittent fasting is that it's not about what you eat, but about when you eat. You can combine this lifestyle (with the approval of your doctor) with any way of eating you prefer. I don't do any special diet and (as you'll see in today's video) am enjoying very normal foods today.

I always take time for tea when I can. This is my famous (in my house, anyway) chocolate chip banana bread. Plates are Spode and teacup is Victoria Magazine.

For dinner, we enjoyed Indian food. Saag Paneer is one of my very favorites.

During the summer months, I don't feel like cooking. Does anyone else experience this? I rely on easy-to-assemble meals or quick favorites so I'm not spending too much time in the kitchen. I want to relax just like everyone else. Today shows a sampling of what two busy days look like in the world of 16:8.

I had to go to the doctor unexpectedly today so I didn't have breakfast (only coffee at 7am). We had chicken burgers for lunch with a side of fruit.

I made my (also famous in our house) jam tarts for tea today. And enjoyed these along with Plum Deluxe Earl Grey tea. JENNIFER10 for 10% off.

I normally have light dinners, but today, Angel Hair Marinara with Rao's sauce did the trick. Dishes by Spode. Once I finish having dinner at 5pm, I don't eat until the next morning at around 9 am. That gives 16 hours of fasting. I enjoy feeling "done" after dinner.

Anon writes, "I have been following your blog and reading your books for years. I love The Daily Connoisseur! I typically do not leave comments on blogs, but today’s post on homemaking is taking me out of my comfort zone and leaving a comment! I think you would really enjoy reading the book “The Liturgy of the Ordinary” by Tish Harrison Warren (if you have not done so already). It is a Christian book on “sacred practices in everyday life”."

Dear Anon, thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely comment and also for the book recommendation. It sounds delightful!

I hope you enjoyed today's video. Are you trying intermittent fasting? Let us know what your experience is. Your comment could be chosen as comment of the week.
