A Relaxing Day in the Life | Makeup, Haircut, Wallpaper

Homemaking Week in the Life | The Business of Bliss

Welcome to a new homemaking week in the life video. Today we are exploring the business of bliss. 

 

If there was one standout series on my channel this year, it would be my homemaking videos. Those are my favorite to make and I know many of you enjoy watching them too. In today's video I'm cooking, cleaning, and musing on how we can make homemaking blissful... even the most dreaded tasks. 



I am featured alongside 6 other amazing women entrepreneurs in Victoria Magazine's annual Business of Bliss issue. The Business of Bliss in this sense is attributed to women making a living doing what they love. This certainly applies to me, but it got me thinking about homemaking. Homemaking is the ultimate career, after all. How can we make homemaking our business of bliss? Find out in today's video.

Homemaking on a Blustery Day | Fall Cook and Clean with Me | Elegant Homemaking Inspiration

Welcome to a new homemaking week in the life. The winds seem extra powerful this year and you'll see their ferocity in today's video. I find homemaking to be a comforting refuge from the storm. Today you'll see some steam mopping, cooking, baking, ironing, and (of course) a well-deserved rest with a cup of tea. 

 

Do you take comfort in doing housework on a blustery day? 


Many people have asked me about steam mop recommendations. I decided to purchase one of the steam mops with the best reviews on Amazon and I am very pleasantly surprised by it. The one issue I do not like is having to deal with a cord. I'm used to a cordless vacuum cleaner and with mops that are not attached to cords, so this takes some getting used to. Having said that, I love the steam mop and how it sanitized floors. I also find the steam sounds strangely soothing... kind of like when I steam my clothing or when I iron. It's the little things with homemaking! 




My daughter and I enjoyed making these pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting. This recipe is so good... the pumpkin bars taste more like cake and the frosting is just delicious. The recipe can be found on Taste of Home. 

Tranquility

The storm rages outside,

Inside there’s warmth and peace.

Homemaking provides a calmness, 

As I wait for the gale to cease.

 

I focus on beauty in my task;

The eloquence of the steam.

My thoughts in their own soliloquy,

“To sleep, perchance to dream.”

 

There is tranquility to be found in

The art of an everyday chore.

A Highly Unusual Day in the Life | Inside Edition Appearance

Welcome to another highly unusual day in the life. Get ready with me as I prepare for an appearance on the television show, Inside Edition. 



 I wear heavier makeup for the occasion, but also answer many frequently asked questions about my recent makeup and hair changes.

The crew for Inside Edition was wonderful. We had a fun shoot. It's interesting to see what goes into producing a television show like this.

We took a lot of footage and they boiled it down to this small clip. To get camera-ready for the appearance, I put on heavier makeup, focusing on full-coverage application of foundation, and lots of bronzer and eyeshadow.

In the segment, I discuss my prepper (or victory) pantry. Why is it important to stock up on extra supplies right now? With the pandemic as a regular and uncertain aspect of our present and future, it's important to be prepared for any eventuality. I was convicted of this when reading, The Long Winter, to the girls earlier this year. When Laura and her family nearly ran out of food, I felt the undercurrent of dread her parents must have felt. This is not meant to be alarmist. You know my motto is, "being chic is prepared". Let's get prepared together. I hope you enjoy today's video.
