My New eCourse: Carry Yourself with Poise

Hello Daily Connoisseurs,

I've been working on my new eCourse, Carry Yourself with Poise, for the past five months and it is finally ready.

This course has well over two hours of video instruction and covers both the "seen" and the "unseen" aspects of what it takes to be an elegant lady.

We live in a world that does not value elegance and poise as it used to, but that does not mean it is not valuable. In fact, it is more valuable than ever as I discuss in today's announcement video.

I look forward to seeing you on the eCourse.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend.

With love,

Jennifer xx

How wonderful! I have enrolled now. Will take my time and enjoy this course.
I have learned so much from you over the years, Jennifer. I have one story I wish to share with you: back in 2015 I was finishing my Bachelor’s degree at university. I was writing my final paper and did all the work from home. So, I went around in sweatpants and told myself that I had to pour all my energy into my writing and not care about something as silly as clothes and appearance. But one day I stopped and looked at myself in the mirror. I realized that I looked as tired as my outfit. I had read your book the previous year and followed your blog, so I had learned how important looking presentable really is. So, from that day onwards I took some time each morning to put on a nice outfit and do my hair. And what a difference that made to how I worked with my paper! I ended up with a solid A and I am absolutely certain that I would not have achieved that result had I not followed your advice. So, thank you so much for all that you share with us, it really makes a difference and improves lives.

I liked your book about poise but it took me years to truly appreciate why it matters. In a way you came to this revelation in the book, though not explicitly. So I wanted to share it with you. At some point in your life you move from child to young woman, to matriarch in a family dynamic. We often fail to appreciate how much matriarchs set the tone of our family lives and dynamics, but they really do.
This is why poise matters. As a matriarch you set a tone in your household: implicit guidelines for people to follow. It’s ok to have a drink but not get drunk. A disagreement, even a debate, but not a fight. It’s ok to air a genuine frustration but not to gossip. When done in a gracious and non-judgemental manner people actually like these boundaries. They like to rise to an occasion, especially when it’s met with positive reinforcement. But for it to work, it can’t be fake. Poise cannot be a performance. It has to come from a place of authenticity and that’s why it needs to be practiced by one’s self first. It has taken years for me to truly understand how critical this is. Thanks as always for your message.
