I'm not sure what I was thinking trying out a new deodorant the day I performed in my daughters' piano recital, but thankfully my story has a happy ending!
In today's Natural Home with Jennifer, I'm reviewing Schmidt's Lavender + Sage natural deodorant.
The lavender + sage has a wonderful, natural scent and truly smells like pure lavender. The deodorant is also:
Scented with essential oils; no artificial fragrance
Free of aluminum, propylene glycol, parabens & phthalates
Certified Vegan and Cruelty-free
The first day I tried the deodorant, I performed in my daughters' piano recital, playing a duet with my younger daughter. It was a hot day and thankfully the deodorant worked well under pressure.

I hope you enjoy the review in today's video, along with our dress rehearsal piano performance.
You can find a two-pack of the deodorant on Amazon. I purchased the deodorant through Grove Collaborative where I get all of my natural cleaning and beauty products.
New customers to Grove can get a free Mrs. Meyers gift Set, which includes a Mrs. Meyer's dish soap, Mrs. Meyer's hand soap, and Mrs. Meyer''s Multi-Surface Spray + Free shipping with VIP Trial when you sign up with Grove Collaborative and spend $20. Existing members with Grove Collaborative can receive a free walnut scrubber sponge.
I hope you enjoyed today's Natural Home with Jennifer. Let us know what your favorite natural deodorant is in the comment section. If you have any requests for future reviews for this series, please leave them below. Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you on Monday!

Hello Jennifer,
Your piano practice with your daughter put a big smile on my face! So sweet!
As for deodorants, my favorite natural deodorant is soap and water and a calm (as opposed to a tense) demeanor!

Hi Jennifer, I love it when you include piano playing! And I am very impressed with your daughter being able to read music! I wanted to learn piano when I was a child but my parents said no. So now, at 46, I have been taking piano lessons for 6 months and I really enjoy it. However, I do cheat - I write the letters on the sheet music! As an adult with work and everything else going on, learning one more thing is just too much for me right now. Kudos to you for bringing up such well-rounded young ladies - I wish my parents had done that for me.
Thank you for the review of this natural deodorant. I have used the version in a jar of the same lavender fragrance, and I loved it, but unfortunately it made me turn red and itch after a few days. I started using it alternately with my usual Deodorant (Tom's of Maine) to prevent a full-blown rash. Perhaps I react to the lavender oil. I am currently trying the Bergamot-Lime fragrance in the deodorant stick, and so far no rash! I love the refreshing scent, perfect for summer. One advice, use it very sparingly, or it will leave white marks on your clothes and form little white clumps on your skin...
Thank you for the lovely piano performance. It is so precious to be able to share music with one's children. Both my children started playing piano at age seven. and I started at 47. Now they are 12 and 14 and way ahead of me, and I love watching them play.
As your sweet and handsome husband said off camera, I'm echoing his "very nice" and "well done" to the sweet and pretty duo!! I loved your performance and the wonderful song choice had a lovely melody. Thank you!
I always enjoy reviews on natural deodorants and I've been using the natural deodorant, Crystalux, in its spray form, since 2004 when I was treated for breast cancer and moved to natural products as often as I could. In fact, fast forward to your Grove Collaborative and "Natural Home with Jennifer" series, I'm swiftly changing over in all areas when I find some I both like and can use my life. They also have to be effective and I'm glad you give them a try and share your experience. I did try one of your earlier natural deodorant products (I can't recall which one) and it simply didn't work with my body chemistry and I went back to my favorite Crystalux. However, you've intrigued me with the Schmidt's Lavender Sage Deodorant. I'm curious about whether it leaves white marks on black shirts or tees and if there is any staining in the armpits as some have mentioned in reviews.
Since I wear perfume, I don't like competing smells from other products. I use the Crystal deodorant, which is a pure chunk of mineral salt. It has no smell, it works, and it lasts practically forever. It says on the label that it lasts a year. Ha! My last one lasted about a decade!
That is one of my favorite songs! Jesus, name above all names!
A lovely, heart-melting performance. Thank you.
Such a sweet performance!
What a sweet moment.. it brings tear of hapinnes to my eyes!!!
Watching your blog makes me feel taht we can still have hope for a nicer, calmer, sweeter world.
Thanks for sharing this moment!!!
Warmes regards from Barcelona (Spain)
Ladies, thank you so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate your comments so much. I'm really enjoying playing piano with my girls. It's rewarding to start them off at such a young age. They will surpass me in ability in no time! :)
Schmidt's is a great natural deodorant but I know that some people seem to have a reaction to it (maybe it's the baking soda?). I hope it works for you. I will definitely review more natural deodorants in the future. Thank you and I'll see you all tomorrow on the blog!
With love,
Jennifer
Do these natural deodorants keep one dry? I am all on board with the natural and getting away from aluminum, but i do not want dark wet stains on my clothing under the arms nor do I want to fee wet.
Beautiful performance with your daughter!
