# 16:8 method # Intermittent Fasting

What I Eat in a Day *2 Days* Intermittent Fasting 16:8

I'm sharing two different days in this What I Eat in a Day video. As you know, I enjoy doing the 16:8 method of Intermittent Fasting (fasting for 16 hours and enjoying an 8-hour eating window). I do not follow a special diet and aim to eat well-rounded, nutritious meals, so even if you don't do IF, you can still get some meal inspiration from today's video.

Disclaimer: if you are interested in trying intermittent fasting, please consult your doctor first.

The first day was a typical week day. I am having a breakfast that has appealed to me nearly every day in the past few months: whole fat Greek yogurt with flax seed, walnuts (or pecans), and fresh fruit.

For luncheon (I'm trying to say "luncheon" after reading Long Live the Queen), I enjoyed the Tomato Feta Pasta recipe I recently shared in a What's for Dinner? video.

Tea set is Victoria Magazine Blue Roses, Tea is Plum Deluxe  JENNIFER10 for 10% off

For teatime I enjoyed a cup of Plum Deluxe Tea (the strawberry Earl Grey), and some homemade jam tarts.

Dishes by Portmeirion

Dinner was leftover salmon with roasted veggies and mashed yam. The salmon was a little dry as it was cooked the day prior. Next time, I would refresh it with a lemon butter sauce.

The second day shows a heartier breakfast. I made an egg scramble with chopped herbs, onions, and shredded cheese. I mixed it together with a dash of heavy cream and scrambled them on the stove. I also enjoyed a leftover homemade cinnamon roll and some chopped fruit.

For luncheon, we had mini-burritos and a simple salad with Yo Mama's Ranch dressing. There was no teatime today as it was such a busy day with "off" times for meals.

Dinner was grilled chicken with mashed red potatoes and vegetables.

Nutrition Spotlight

Chic Society Member, Sarah Morgan, is a wellness coach for women and she was kind enough to share her insights on eating well with the Daily Connoisseur audience. Here's what Sarah had to say:

Respect Our Emotional Connection to Food

Meals are steeped in cultural and familial traditions. We use food to cope when we are upset or stressed-out and to celebrate birthdays, triumphs, and even the end of the week. When you abruptly change or eliminate that pattern, you change or eliminate that feeling of pleasure and comfort.

Treat the Cause, Not the Symptom

Instead of focusing on avoiding a particular food, like chips, try to root out why you are grabbing them in the first place. Dig in and explore your feelings around particular foods or activities that you struggle to let go. Discover what it is that you feel so attached to and address it.

Redesign Your Life

Once you’ve started identifying areas of your life that need attention, get to work by finding new ways to feel pleasure and comfort or to relieve stress, frustration, boredom, etc. Take a look at your habits, your daily rituals, and your routines. Be prepared to rewrite years of patterns, which will take some time.

Auntie- yes! We can think of our household appliances as our servants. I like to think of my robot vacuum as my personal floor assistant. Ha! That is a great perspective.

Thank you for your updated video concerning intermittent Fasting. I use the DoFast App, and I am mostly satisfied with it. I was satisfied until a couple of days ago when an update was available and I allowed it to update. I was no longer able to enter what I ate, and all of the history was wiped out. I emailed the support team, and am awaiting an answer.
Fasting, and hopefully my question on when is the best time to weigh oneself.
