# 10 Item Wardrobe # Jennifer L. Scott

Maternity Ten-Item Wardrobe Talk-Through SS 2018 | Jennifer L. Scott

I hope you enjoyed Monday's Ten-Item Wardrobe video. As is traditional on my blog, I'll be talking through each piece in today's video.

Today's video is not just for pregnant ladies, or ladies who plan to become pregnant, however. I show you what I would have worn this season had I not been pregnant. I also share some practical fashion wardrobe tips, including wearing maternity shareware under my thin dresses as well as the demi-camisole I use for all of my low-cut tops and dresses.

The four returning dresses are from Seraphine.

The following dresses were found in zulily's maternity section. Zulily always has an excellent selection of heavily discounted maternity wear. They carry many of the major maternity brands at such a discounted rate. These are my pieces from zulily.

The following items were from Amazon. This black skirt is not actually a maternity skirt, I'm just using it as one. It has a fold over top band that works well in maternity and will work well after. I love the maternity tee shirts from Amazon. They have such a great fit! The jeans are from zulily.

I also mention my undergarment secrets in today's video.

I will often wear maternity shapewear under my dresses to smooth everything out. I wear this brand from Amazon. (Please note: the screenshot above is from the model, not me :) )

Another wardrobe secret: I wear a demi-camisole underneath my low-cut dresses. I love these from Amazon. They come in many different colors. This is an excellent staple for all wardrobes, not just maternity. Wear these demi-camisoles over your bra to cover up a low-cut blouse or dress.

I cannot find the exact canvas bins I use, because they were purchased years ago. This set of 6 canvas bins is Amazon's choice and has good reviews.

I hope you enjoy today's video.

Treated myself to the Madame Chic books as an early birthday gift! I’ve had a chance to read them in the past & wanted to add them to my yearly reads. There are certain books I reread every year: • Wife Dressing by Ann Fogarty The Madame Chic series by Jennifer L. Scott The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen • There are a few others I like to reference as well! I would love to add some budgeting books to my collection. So let know if there are any books you could recommend! 😊📚 • • • • • #madamechic #lifechangingmagicoftidyingup #konmarimethod #sparksjoy #prideandprejudice #janeausten #bookstagram #bookrecommendation #bookclub #wifedressing #homemaking #selfcare #booklove #minimalism #budgeting #budgetingtips #tabledecor

Thank you SO MUCH for linking the camisole under-garment. I have 2 dresses that I never wear because they are too low. Now I can add them back in.

Hello Jennifer,

Thanks for the talk through and the tips. Since you mentioned Zulily several times, I will add that APRONS are available on Zulily right now. i have never seen so many aprons in one place. There is even a super elegant one called "Ruffles and Roses" which resembles a cocktail dress!

Warm best,
Alexandra

Thank you for this inspiring post! I have enjoyed sharing your previous post, and this one with my daughter. She is expecting her second baby and will enjoy hearing these tips from you! I also am glad you mentioned the camisoles that you use under low cut garments. I find that is a problem for me quite often. Could you possibly share a link to the nude Sam Edelman sandals? They are adorable!

Many thanks,

Sheri

You know I have to tell you that your maternity wardrobe selections are wonderful and you look so beautiful, Jennifer! All the dresses look amazing on you, from Seraphine to Zulily. So, this may or may not sound silly, but I’ve always admired your wardrobe choices, whether they were for regular or maternity wear, because you have a way of buying items that look nice and feel comfortable. On a whim, I decided to pick up the Amazon skirt you linked, above, and I have worn it twice already. The weight of it is perfect and it is extraordinarily comfortable. I may even buy my sister one as a surprise, because she lives in the desert and likes to keep cool. Thank you for this great pick! Also, because I work out in an aerobics class and also do 5Rhythms Dance, I decided to pickup two of the Pinkydot tees, because I could wear them over my leggings when doing these activities or the new black skirt at home. I like the fact that they have a generous length to them that goes to my hips. Funny, I know, and it works!

As one fashion blogger says: “leave no retail stone unturned” and I’m happy I did with your recommendations. I'm glad I decided to hit the buy button due to the cost and the reviews by you that said they were so wearable. I also like garments that are made with natural fibers and these fit the bill. I'm curious about and want to know how you locate all those amazing finds on Amazon, because there are so many items on that website. You've got a great eye, Jennifer. Enjoy your summer and I look forward to your videos.

I wonder what you think of the athleisure wear trend, Jennifer....

Jennifer- I love your 10 item wardrobe concept and, like you, I love wearing dresses, especially in the summertime. I live in the midwest, so there are only several months out of the year that I can wear the breezy light dresses that I love, so I really do try to take advantage of it; however, summertime is also the time when my kids and I spend more time outdoors during the day and being active. I like to get involved in playing with my kids, whether it means going on the playground with them, or, playing catch, soccer, or basketball with my son, or doing chalk art on our driveway. Obviously, wearing dresses are not usually fitting with these sorts of activities. If I already have a dress on, and then my kids spontaneously want me to play outside with them in the middle of the day, I find it to be a hassle to go upstairs to my closet, change into my "active" clothes, get socks/sneakers on, etc.. and then afterwards change back into my presentable clothes/dresses. For this reason, sometimes I just find myself throwing on my activewear in the morning, instead of my favorite dresses in my capsule wardrobe, and then I just end up wearing essentially workout gear all day. Since you also have young children, I'm wondering if you have had to deal with this situation, and if so, how? It seems like your 10-item wardrobe are mostly dresses; how do you play and be active with your kids, especially outdoors, while wearing dresses and sandals? Do you have any suggestions for "presentable active wear"? Thanks so much.
