Shampoo and Conditioner Bar Review | The Sudsy Soapery | Natural Home with Jennifer

I have to say, I was completely taken aback by this investigative review. Ever since I started my Natural Home with Jennifer series, you have been urging me to try shampoo and conditioner bars. I didn't jump at the request because I thought, "how good could those possibly be?" I imagined washing my hair with a bar of soap and coming out of the shower with brittle, coarse hair.

Well, I finally decided to try them and I was completely astonished at the results. Not only did they clean my hair well, but they actually nourished it, conditioned it, and made it softer. I film this before and after at the end of a long, rainy day when I looked like something the cat dragged in. Yikes! But wait until you see the "after".

The lovely bars I am using are from The Sudsy Soapery. They contacted me to to see if I'd like to try any of their products. I noticed they did shampoo and conditioner bars so I requested those. Not only did they send the bars, but they also sent me a lovely care package full of candles, soaps, and natural deodorant! I will have to do another review of all of their other lovely products.

Check out all of their shampoo bars here and their conditioner bars here.

Here is what they have to say about their Calendula shampoo bar:
Our hair shampoo bar is meant for normal hair and leaves your hair feeling conditioned, soft and manageable. This bar is a great alternative to sulfate and chemical ridden shampoo that leaves your scalp and hair dry and frizzy.

Here is what they say about their conditioner bar:
Our after shampoo solid hair conditioner bar is packed full with all natural ingredients to make your hair look and feel great. We have chosen some of the very finest hair conditioning butters like Jojoba and Hemp Seed to enhance the conditioning experience. As part of our ongoing dedication to hair health we have decided to complete the hair bar experience with adding some great aids like Lemon Shine and Split end fortifiers to make your hair conditioning a natural and amazing experience!

I have used these for a few weeks and have also worn my hair curly a few times since then. These bars cultivate beautiful curls! My daughters use them too and I am amazed at how tangle-free and beautifully textured their hair is after using them. I can't recommend them enough!

The Sudsy Soapery are a small business run by a husband and wife team. They are the loveliest people and their products are handmade and totally natural.

While the prices are cheaper on their own website, some people like to be able to buy on Amazon so I am also linking them here: shampoo bar on Amazon and conditioner bar on Amazon

Thanks for this review. I've been wanting to try shampoo and conditioner bars to reduce my use of plastics, but I've been too nervous. This company looks great. I got 22% off by giving my email on their website, so the prices were very reasonable even though I had to pay shipping (we get so used to free shipping on amazon, don't we!?). I can't wait to try them myself!

Thank you for that great review. I've been having some issues with my scalp lately and looking for a new shampoo and conditioner. I just ordered shampoo and conditioner bars, a body bar and beard oil for my husband - and I got 15% off of my order!

Hi Jennifer! Your videos are wonderful and so full of information and inspiration. Thank you for trying out such a wide array of products and ideas. That saves the rest of us so much time, money, and possible frustration. By the way, I can tell that you have beautiful natural curls--have you heard of the Curly Girl method of hair care? I have just discovered it myself (it's amazing!) and would love to see you do a video on that. The biggest benefits to me so far are that it saves me time, is simple, and lets my authentic "hair personality" shine through! Thanks again for all you do!

Wow! I can see how much sleeker and shinier your hair looks! (It always looks good, but it looks so much more amazing now!) I'm going to try this! Thanks so much for your natural product reviews.

Anon- that's great! Please come back and let us know how you like them! I love not using the plastic bottles now for shampoo. We still have some left over but once they are used up we will most likely phase them out and use the bars, which are much better for the environment.

Allegra- Wonderful! I'm excited to see if this helps. Please let us know!

Roslyn- Thank you! Many people have told me about the Curly Girl method. I've actually worn my hair curly a few times since using these bars and was pleased!

Mimi- thank you! I know, I could tell such a difference too. I can also tell there is a huge difference in my daughters' hair. Please come back and let us know how you like them if you try them!
